Dutch coach Arie Haan has been ordered to pay £422,000 compensation to the Cameroon FA for walking out on the national side.Cameroon had appointed the former Holland midfielder as their head coach back in August 2006 on a two-year contract, but he resigned just six months into his role.
Fifa ruled in favour of the Indomitable Lions, who initially filed a complaint against the 62-year-old back in 2007.
The world governing body had made its ruling against 62-year-old Haan on 16th November and also ordered him to pay £12,500 in costs.
"(Haan) was found to have breached the contract he had signed with the federation concerned and ordered to pay compensation," Fifa said in a statement.
The Cameroon football federation said on its website that Haan never fulfilled contract requirements to live in the country and deliver a year-long working plan.
Haan can appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport after Fifa provides full reasons for the ruling.
The Dutchman later coached Albania's national team and now leads Chinese club Tianjin Teda.
Haan played in the Holland team which reached the 1974 and '78 World Cup finals, but was on the losing side on both occasions.
