VANCOUVER -- The Vancouver Whitecaps have waived Canadian midfielder Kevin Harmse, the club announced Friday.
The 26-year-old saw limited action with the Whitecaps in their inaugural Major League Soccer season, playing just three matches for a total of 126 minutes.
Harmse, who was born in South Africa but grew up in Vancouver, signed with the Whitecaps just before the start of the season.
Harmse has also spent time in the MLS with the Los Angeles Galaxy, Toronto FC and Chivas USA.
He has made nine appearances for Canada internationally.
