Desailly pulls out of Ghana job Desailly: Ghana snub

Marcel Desailly has withdrawn from the race to be Ghana manager, claiming he in no longer interested in the post.

Ghana reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup in South Africa where they were coached by Serbian Milan Rajevac.

However, Rajevac opted against renewing his contract with the team in September, prompting Desailly to declare his interest in managing the country of his birth.

But the 42-year-old has become disillusioned by the amount of time it is taking for the Ghana Football Association to make a decision.

"The administration takes a long time (to make a decision), it is more complicated than elsewhere," Desailly said.

"I had put both my private and professional life on stand-by, but who can wait three months without any guarantee, without receiving an explanation?"

The former France international is now expected to resume his career as a television pundit which has seen him working for a number of Europe's leading networks.
